that's a great idea.. would be cool to setup a weekly metal beer bash at the Zeitgeist or so.. :D
3 · January 24, 2013
saturday night zeitgeist fever?
2 · January 24, 2013
Hey! I'd love to catch up, but I can't this weekend. I'll be away with my husband for the whole weekend. Let's catch up the following week?!
Also, not sure about the Testament gig at this stage... but probably not.

me too, early evening works best.. but I am open! :)
it can be friday too, I haven't set up my plans for the weekend yet so I let you choose
So glad the Meetup has connected you guys!! See you all hopefully the following weekend :)
How about a friday evening drink after work (tomorrow).. i can be in the city at 6:30
I won't be back from work before 8 :(
Oh and if you want you can add me on Facebook, same name same pic
I can only do Saturday. Anytime that day.
Let me know. I missed the show because I had family in town. Just moved here and want to get to know the SF metal scene.
I am in for saturday too..
Zeitgeist on Saturday starting at 7? Or later. For those who don't know the place, it's on Valencia and duboce, and they have burgers too. Small bar but big backyard
Let's do it! I haven't been to zeitgeist in a long time, would love to go back. They have food, too. How about we meet starting at 7 or 8? Dress for sitting outside!
Oh whoops. Took me too long to type that. :D
And the content of their jukebox is not too bad. I fucking love jukeboxes in this country :-P

Seems like some didnt know Devin Townsend.. I gotta post this, from when he was in Strapping Young Lad, showcasing his previous signature haircut, his wicked sense of humor and his evil touch.. Some background here, Strapping Young Lad has always been in parallel with Devin Townsend Project, only difference being (as far as I know) that he would write music for SYL when he was pissed off, while the music for DTP when he was happy.. Since now he has kids and seems to be in a much better space, SYL is gone.. but oh boy what a band it was..
Aweome vid, Filippo, thanks for sharing!!!
why no poster, Fillmore?!
Ya, that was a real bummer
Atlas Moth was better on cd, Devin Townsend was a pretentious prick who plays some excellent metal and metal showtunes. I found it to be more performance art that I would pay $20 at BotH to experience again. He really should have a bigger sf following. And Gogira has one fuckin epic song. I left soon thereafter.

Sorry to disagree, Devin has had the same twisted sense of humor forever and he is quite the opposite, he actually doesnt take himself seriously at all.. Check out Strapping Young Lad, he created the heaviest most insane metal band that ever existed, he is a genius.. :)

Lovely meeting all of you guys by the way..
1 · January 23, 2013
Yeah, I found Devin and gojira awesome. It was really nice to meet you.
I agree with Filippo, Devin is more of a goofball. Sorry I didn't hang with any one at the actual show. Next time :) It was cool meeting people at the bar before the show though.
oh man, I'd never heard of Devin but I was holding my sides laughing. gojira was one of the most energy inducing bands I've seen in a few years, and I was wholly impressed with both them and DTP. Atlas Moth would have been a better time to burn one than gojira, but they were pretty alright, little too drone for me.
Okay okay maybe "pretentious prick" is a bit much. He's a huge fuckin weirdo, and I love that. Definitely looking forward to his next show.
A review of last night's show for those who missed it! http://moozemag.com/music/gig-review-gojira-live-san-francisco/
I'm in the middle of the dance floor with a girl
Your friend was awesome. She should totally get a motorscooter... :D
Rachel and I are at Fat Angel, sitting at the window. Come have a beer with us!
On my way
We'll be too late (arriving around 7:20 at the Fillmore). See you in the line
The show starts at 8pm (according to website), so I'll be at Fat Angel from 6pm to get something to eat.
They don't take reservations so whoever gets there first please grab a space. After people have had food, if there is time, we could go elsewhere for a drink before the show.
If you want my number, in case you can't find the group, send me a private message.
See you all tomorrow \m/

Awesome! I'll try to make it asap. We've been preparing for trial these past couple of weeks and it's been tough getting out of work on time. *sad [and tired] face*
1 · January 22, 2013
On second thoughts 6pm is a bit early. I'll be at Fat Angel at 6.30pm instead.
I'll try to be there!
I wish I could meet you guys but I don't think we'll arrive before 7:20. Look for the Hellfest t-shirt if you want to say hi =)
I'll see what time I can make it over there and what the line looks like.
if you hear French in the line, it's probably me talking to my friend, so feel free to join, I'd love to meet you guys.

Mais, je ne parle pas francais!
You just need to yell "pamplemousse" :)
Now i really want to know the story behind that!
Just one of the few words one of my coworker knows, and he's a metalhead too
Anyone still need a ticket? Looks like I'll have an extra.
Sorry but actually it looks like my friend can still make it so I won't have an extra after all. Sorry!
Wow, this is turning into a big group! If anyone's interested in meeting up for a drink before the show, I've been wanting to check out The Social Study on Geary. There's also Fat Angel on O'Farrell, but that place gets crowded. See ya next week!

Hell yeah!! Thanks for sending this message- you beat me to it!! Do these places have food?
1 · January 17, 2013
Fat Angel has food, i don't know about social study, but I think not.

I'll be up to meet up before the show
2 · January 18, 2013

I'd be up for meeting before the show.
2 · January 21, 2013
Will I completely lose my hearing after this concert?
1 · December 7, 2012
