Rev. Bup Tah Sanim
PLEASE JOIN US FOR JOINT MEETUP Sponsored by Metro Indy Zen Meditation Group http://www.meetup.com/Metro-Indy-Zen-Meditation-Group/
The Mahaprajnaparamita Hridaya Sutra (The Heart Sutra) is a very popular Mahayana sutra. All over the world, monks and laypeople alike recite the verses of The Heart Sutra as part of their morning and evening practices. It is a very short, yet profound, sutra that contains the essence of all the Buddha's teachings. For this reason, it is often referred to as "Buddhism in a nutshell."
During this meetup we will dig in to the sutra and expose the "Heart" of The Heart Sutra's teaching.
Rev. Bup Tah will lead the discussion. No prior knowledge of The Heart Sutra is necessary. An English translation by E. Conze will be posted in "Files." (see "more" on meetup tab and click on "files")
This is a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Buddha's teachings.
The discussion will probably go for two hours and light refreshments will be available.
Rev. Bup Tah Sanim (Erik S. Mroz) is an ordained Dharma Teacher with the Taego Order and is finishing seminary training with the Institute for Buddhist Studies. He is the organizer of the Metro Indy Zen Meditation Meetup, which meets on Saturdays at 6:00 pm at the Benedict Inn Retreat & Conference Center in Beech Grove. http://www.meetup.com/Metro-Indy-Zen-Meditation-Group/
