About Jim

Jim Luke

By day, Jim Luke is a professor at Lansing Community College who blogs as Econproph and has super-charged all his courses by using WordPress. Pretty good lecture, I knew alot about these features but to have someone actually be there to teach it could have saved me a week of the "learning curve". If you missed this one your gonna regret it...

Patti, for these kinds of messages, it's best to post on the group message board. Both Deb and I have replied back to your email message from this morning.

Please, please bring this back to the suburbs. This is too much for this small town girl.

Sorry you couldn't make it, Cindi. The location of meetings is absolutely dependent on available space. Co-working spaces and colleges are often the most available spaces, so we are limited. We were fortunate today to have space generously made available by BambooDetroit.com. Any location suggestions are welcome. We've checked out a lot, but might have missed something. Note: libraries aren't as easy as people think they are!

Thank you, Jim, for an eye-opening talk about using AWS for WordPress speed, savings and backups!

So sorry, everyone, that we didn't realize a Lions game overlapped and made parking and navigating downtown into crazy!

The space and location today was great. Great start to S3. I had no problem parking but I understand how some could.

I drove around and finally found a parking space. Now, the door is locked. Is there any way to get in now?

Parked, walked 10 blocks, found a sign and a locked door. Not happening for me, either.

Driving back home! I cannot find anywhere to park. Looks like Detroit Lions football game! Sooo disappointed.

Sorry for the late cancellation, but I woke up with a fever and don't think I should be attending any group events today. Hoping my schedule allows me to attend the next one!

    September 8, 2013

    • Deborah E.

Oh no, sorry to hear you're not feeling well, Cleo. Thanks for letting us know. Hope to see you at the next meetup.

Thank you to everyone who has released their spot to someone else when they found they couldn't make it! The people who will now be able to attend (including me! :) ) appreciate it.

We'll miss you and look forward to seeing you at another meeting.

This sounds like a really good presentation. Sorry, I won't be able to attend. Let someone else have my spot.

Hi Jim/Deborah - I'm very interested in learning more about Word Press website capabilities as I start to dabble in some part-time ideas, but I think this particular Meet up is well past my current level of understanding. I'll decline the invite and let someone else in. I'll keep my eye out for the next "Word Press 101". Thanks again for offering your time!

Note: the location for the meeting has changed to Bamboo Detroit, a new co-working space in downtown Detroit. It's down the street from Ford Field. Parking can be found on the street or at the Detroit Opera House parking structure, less than five minutes away.
