Getting "Google Love" for Your WordPress Site

How much search traffic is available for your blog's subject matter? How much of that traffic are you missing out on if you appear on page two or beyond for a top searched keyword phrase? How do you even discover the answers to these questions?

Did you know:

  • Studies have shown that 98% of all searchers will never click to page two of the Google results? They either click on a first page listing or refine their search for more relevant results.
  • A position 1 spot in a Google search will get more clicks to a website than positions two through five combined?
  • One study suggests that you will get fewer clicks at position seven than you will at the top of page two?

In this session, Tim will cover several aspects recommended for optimizing your WordPress website to get the best possible performance in Google. He will also discuss some pitfalls to avoid which can kill your traffic potential. Find out how avoiding those pitfalls can be simple when using WordPress and the right plugins.

As WordPress users, we know that the software makes creating an amazing website and updating that site an unbelievably simple process. Discover how it can also set the stage for much "Google love".

Tim began a successful career as a freelance designer back in 2004, but client demand steered him into the world of Search Engine Optimization. Somewhere along the line, SEO became more than a career, it became his passion.

Out of that passion, he opened YowSeo Online Marketing to offer custom marketing strategies for startups and small businesses with a focus on SEO, but also includes Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing and Paid Advertising Management.

After Tim's presentation, we'll have time for Q & A, news about the upcoming WordCamp Detroit event, and updates about WordPress.

We'll close with the popular 5 Things About WordPress. See you there!

Hi Joyce, glad the information was helpful to you. Tim is a natural speaker and I'm glad he offered to speak. He provided great SEO tips, answered members questions throughout his preso, and dealt with our technology issues with ease.

Great information presented in a clear way. Excellent speaker with a great deal of knowledge. Received lots of ideas in a short time.

I would like to see shorter introductions where participants state their name and one sentence about how they use WordPress. With such great speakers, it would be helpful to have more time with them and less time on the audience's background and history. Thank you so much for a fantastic meeting. It is going to change the way that I do SEO on my blog. I also appreciated knowing about the WordPress Camp!
