localhost install

Hi all,
I am going to be installing WP Multisite as a localhost development site. Are there any tips or tricks I should know about, or pitfalls I should avoid? I have a basic knowledge of html, css, and javascript, but am new to WordPress.

Thanks so much for your help. See you at the next Meetup.

Installing multisite is a bit different than installing WordPress. And a local install of WordPress, whether an individual WordPress or multisite has a number of requirements.

Hi Deborah,
Thanks for your reply. I talked to my website developer today and she suggested we just use regular WP for our company site and build our client sites from scratch rather than use multisite, so that is the direction we are going to take. Given that, is there any advantage to doing a manual install versus a one-button install? Thanks for your help. Sorry to switch gears like this.

Is there a way to get rid of the "Powered by WordPress" bug at the bottom of my site's page?
