Community Lightning Talks

  • January 8 · 6:30 PM

This session will be a bit different from others that you might be used to - we are looking for five members to jump in front of the podium for 20 minutes to share with fellow members an experience, lesson learned, tool, technique or skill that has helped them achieve the next level of craftsmanship.

1. How We Build Confidence with Continuous Integration and Automated Testing - Gareth Marland

2. Web Technologies That Make a Difference at CanadaHelps.org - Ken Waugh

3. Applying the MVC Pattern using Knockout, AJAX and ASP.NET Web API – Roy Kim

4. Use your .NET Experience to Develop Apps for Windows Phone 8 and Surface - Peter Vukosavljev

5. Exploring New Languages through Code Retreats - Colin Bowern

A bit late on the "thank you", I know, but I had a bit of trouble with my account recently.

Anyhow, thanks for giving us the opportunity to talk about CanadaHelps.org and all the cool, new .NET framework, and language features we're happy to bake into our service.

    Cheers.

Thanks alot for giving me the oportunity to talk everyone! Not sure if anyone's interested but I thought I'd upload the slide deck just in case:

Also, as I say, a second of time to give me any thoughts on www.yourcohort would be appreciated! The more brutal the better :)

Gareth, your presentation was excellent; I would have thoroughly enjoyed a full length presentation on the topic! (Maybe one day!) All in all, even though it was my first time out to the group, it was a lot of fun and liked the format. I look forward to more community lightning talks in the future I hope!
