Indian key

Launch at tea table key and paddle to Indian key

Indian key is an historic sight and used to be the county seat of dade county.  And there are some ruins to see.  But the main reason to go there is the swimming.  There are often many aquarium type fish and larger.  Sometimes whole schools of fish.   so bring your mask and snorkel.  Also alligator reef is only a few miles off the coast and the more adventurous can go there if they like

Tea table key, the launch point is just past islomarada.  On the ocean side of the road.   On US 1 you will only see the sign saying tea table key and a small road leading to it.  The road it closed by a white gate and we will launch right next to the road.  There is plenty of parking.  Bring food and drink

Rentals are available for $25 for a single or $35 for a double.  But you must call in advance at[masked]

Hello fellow Kayak peeps ;) Im checking out kayaks and looking for a Good entry level 1
    Any suggestions... ???

Have you considered renting various types of kayaks to get a feel for the type you prefer? Some, maybe most, inflatables do not track as well as hard shells but if space is a problem it might be your best option.

Hi, is it ok to bring kids? I would like to bring my 8yr old but this would be my first meet up and I wasn't sure

If it were my 8 year old I would definitely bring them! I'm not the one to answer this question but haven't heard of any restrictions on kids with this group. I would say that it will probably be really hot so come prepared for that. Otherwise it's a nice and relatively short trip.

It is after Mile Marker 80 on the left. After you pass through Islamorada, you will see Bud n' Mary's Marina on the left, then you will go over a short bridge, then you will see the entrance (a gate) to Tea Table Key, and the launch site is right after that. This would be at about MM 79.5. If anyone is using a GPS, you could put in Bud n' Mary's Marina, 79851 Overseas Highway, Islamorada.

Miles a lot of the areas on tea table have been designated "no parking" due to construction and other areas can fill up fast. Just thought I'd let you know - I've been driving by there a lot.
