New Meetup: Fishing the Bay - Morningside Park

From: Esther

Announcing a new Meetup for The Miami Kayaking Meetup Group!

What: Fishing the Bay - Morningside Park

When: Sunday, January 2,[masked]:30 AM

Where: Morningside Park
750 Ne 55th Terrace
Miami, FL 33127

Morningside Park opens at 7:30 AM and Sunrise will be at 7:08. It will probably be cold. If you want to go earlier, the 79th St ramp (Pelican Marina) is open 24/7 and you can paddle down to meet me.

Morningside Park is a relatively small area to fish, so if anybody show up late just look for the kayaks. We usually split up some to fish anyway.

Favorite lures for me are Gulp! shrimp and various topwater/midwater plugs. Real shrimp also work. All those 20-24" trout should be back in hiding once the season opens.

For non-fishers, it's a nice place to paddle anyway if you just want to hang out and explore.

Don't forget your fishing license if you plan to fish. All safety precautions apply. Please be sure to bring your boat, you paddle, your pfd, fishing gear and all the other goodies you need for a good day of fishing in the bay.
