What is your favorite book to moive adaptation?

Cannot remember all but these come to mind: The Invention of Hugo Cabret (Hugo); The Hobbit- oh so long ago; LOTR trilogy (again so long ago); book turned Musical: Wicked; and looking forward to seeing Dune as I finished this a few months ago.

What is your favorite book genre / type of book to read?

Too many but love to read something that gives me an understanding of life on a new level (ha ha, that might cover just about everything depending on how you analyze it, right!?). At my age, I look for books that offer insights into living life more fully…whether they are works of fiction or non-fiction. I enjoy mystery, intrigue, fantasy-future, humor and educational.

Why did you decide to join a bookclub?

Looking for wider discussion of ideas and life with a more diverse group of women.

Are you a Miami/Florida native or new to town? If you are new, what made you move here?

Native of WI. In Miami for 12 years. Before FL, was in Washington, DC for 12 years (politically active and began business with husband). Also lived in Spain and have travelled a lot to Brazil (visited many, many more countries in between).

What's the last book you read cover to cover?

Cover to cover? Oh, that is so unfair. I am a Gemini and have about 15 that I've got going on… This is why I need to be a part of a book club! Had to be an ebook as bedtime is the only time I have to myself and enjoy escaping into someone else's world … The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley. Secretly, I have quite a few of Young Adult Fantasy titles I have finished but these fall under the category of "keeping up with my daughter's interests".

Introduction

Currently homeschooling my two kids (12 and 14 yo); business background, social activist, trilingual, world traveller.
