Based on the responses to the poll that was posted February, the day/time chosen for north bookclub meetups was first Saturdays at 1:00pm. The location will be in the Mimo Historic District at The Gathering Place. Coffee/Tea and snacks will be provided. The meeting venue is right along the Biscayne Blvd Corridor near the Upper East Side (50th-79th Street). When I founded Pageturners in 2007 my schedule and availability made it much easier to make meetings in the Coral Gables/South Miami Area. Over the years there have been quite a few requests for both weekend and north meetings. Hopefully this day/location will meet the needs of some of our 700+ members who like me can't make it to the existing meetings in the south.
The book selected for the first meeting is Ami McKay's The Birth House in honor the day of the meeting which happens to be International Day of the Midwife (May 5th). The novel has a 3.94 star rating on Goodreads out of 6,845 reviews. Starting in July book selections will be made via voting of regular meeting attendees.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me directly. For those of you who will be joining us, can't wait to meet you!
