What should we do for the May 2011 book?

So... The Paris Wife, which we picked for our May 2011 book is only available in hardback. We can either go ahead and read it anyway or we can go to our next choice in the voting which was The Barracks Thief by Tobias Wolff. Vote for one of these options. Vote by Tuesday, April 26th!

Which of these books would you be interested in reading? (December 2010)

At the August meeting, selections were made (via voting) from the list of recommended books submitted by club members. Books of the month were picked for the September, October and November meetings. The four books with the next highest number of votes are listed here in an effort to give those members who were not present at the August meeting an opportunity to select the December book. Of these four you can vote one (1) book. The "winner" will become the December Book-of-the-month selection.

Which of these books would you be interested in reading? (August 2010)

At the March meeting, selections were made (via voting) from the list of recommended books submitted by club members. Books of the month were picked for the May, June and July meetings. The three books with the next highest number of votes are listed here in an effort to give those members who were not present at the March meeting an opportunity to select the August book. Of these three you can vote one (1) book. The "winner" will become the August Book-of-the-month selection. Summaries of each book can be found on the message board as part of the Spring/Summer 2010 Book Recommendations thread.

What day would you prefer to have the Holiday Dessert Potluck?

The December social event includes a Holiday Dessert Potluck, a book exchange and a trivia contest. The best weekends to steer clear of Christmas would be December 5/6th or 12/13th. The question is which weekend do we prefer and which day. Please vote!

Do you have preference for the day/time of the October and November meetings?

During the months of October & November we are considering moving bookclub meetings from the 3rd Wednesday to weekend meetings which are combined with social events. Do you have a preference?
