Continuous Integration (CI)!

Continuous integration (CI) is the practice, in software engineering, of merging all developer working copies with a shared mainline several times a day.

This month, we are going to look at several different tools to help us do this effectively.

Auston Bunsen(@bunsen) will be talking about Codeship(www.codeship.io).

Bryce Kerley(@BonzoESC) will be talking about Travis(travis-ci.com).

This month, we will also be holding the meetup at the new 1SaleADay office!

See you there!

      Parking in Brickell sucks.

      1SaleADay/CodeShip:

      X00K visitors/day
      $X00MM/year
      1st rule of 1SaleADay: don't talk about 1SaleADay

      CI is good.
      Tests are good.
We looked at a bunch of options and decided on CodeShip.
      RSpec, Selenium/Capybara

      Josef/TravisCI
We got 2 coupon codes for 1 month off "Startup" plan for TravisCI.
      Free for open source projects.

      Bryce/Jenkins
      Jenkins does everything (with plugins).
It's a big, heavy Java app (bigger than an AWS Micro instance).
      Distributed workers.

      Mentions:
      Hudson (fork of Jenkins)
      Bamboo
      Drone
      SemaphoreApp
      Gems: vcr, specjour

The building closes at 6pm, so anyone who arrives later will need to be buzzed in. Please text me so I can let you inside. [masked]

With >20 RSVPs, it might be worth talking to the security staff downstairs.
