About Our Speaker:

Dr. De’Andrea Wiggins is the Interim Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for the Wayne  State University (WSU) School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan where she oversees the outreach and recruitment efforts at the K-12, undergraduate and post-degree levels. Prior to coming to WSU, Dr. Wiggins served as an educator in both Detroit Public Schools and Vistas Nuevas Head Start. In addition to her duties at WSU, Dr. Wiggins provides educational leadership as Pastor of Leadership Development for Impact Church where she serves as an ordained minister. Her instructional courses include the Ministerial Development Course and a seminar on the case for diversity in health care. Active in her community, Dr. Wiggins is serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Park Community Investment Associates, Incorporated where she is the vice-president.

Dr. Wiggins’ debut novel is “Their Darkest Hour” published under her pen name, D. C. Wiggins. She also co-authored “Reboot Global Breakout”, a small group Bible study guide. Due to be released in November 2014 is “Almost Doesn’t Count”, an urban life fiction novel. Dr. Wiggins’ literary project for 2015 is “The Surrendered Soul: Aligning the Five Parts of Your Soul with the Will of God”. Dr. Wiggins is committed to helping people grow spiritually and excel professionally.

    The Motown Writers Network meeting was great. Dr. Wiggens was very thorough with her presentation. She shared a lot of great and useful information. I was also helped in the area of social media marketing. It was also great conversing amongst the other authors--exchanging ideals and supporting one another.
