Our April Meetup was a lot of fun. As promised, listening to Eliyahu and Qadim was like going on a journey through the Middle East, from Turkey to Lebananon, Israel, and Andalusia. My favorites were Rachel's vocals (specially the Turkish ballads) and Myriam Peretz's choreography (oh yes, we had that too!).
For anyone who did not catch them this time, you can visit their web site for other dates around the Bay Area, http://www.eliyahumusic.com.
Next: We talked about everyone's interests and potential activities (dinner / belly dancing, meeting in Golden gate park, and more concerts). Our May event will be dinner at a middle eastern restaurant with live music and belly dancing. Thanks to Rupal for great suggestions on venues, stay tuned.
If you have any suggestions for activities / concerts / restaurants, be sure to send me a note.
