This is a great hidden gem in the folk scene, this months its The John Richards Band
Support - Carrick, Simon Coverdale
John Richards has been one of the Folk Scene’s most successful singer-songwriters since Robin Dransfield covered Did you like the Battle Sir? in 1973. Fairport Convention, Show of Hands, Damien Barber, Bill Caddick, Paul Downes , Michael Black, Bram Taylor and a long list of folk club artists have been performing his songs on the clubs and festival scene. In 2004 John formed the new John Richards Band. They have as their foundation songs, created by John, which move the heart with their beauty and the mind with their tremendous lyrics. The arrangements are stunning and they feature a wide range of instruments together with great singing and lovely harmonies. For a preview have a look at www.thejrbs.co.uk/
