Drupal Workshops (Free & Informal)

Hey Everyone, Jim Beckstrom and I are planning a free and informal Drupal Workshop series for 6 Wednesday nights starting Wednesday, 10/13/10, 7-9PM, WCC, Room BE150. I've created a syllabus to guide the direction of the workshops each day, but it's open for modification and change depending on the who shows up and their respective interests! WORKSHOP OUTLINE: Week 1 - An Introduction to Drupal • Basic Drupal demo: What does Drupal look like and do? • Creating your first page in Drupal • How Drupal works: Core Modules + Contributed Modules + Themes • What is a module? • What is a theme? • D.O (Drupal.org) Week 2 - Web Development Basics • What is a LAMP stack? (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) • What is HTML and CSS? • What is a database driven website? • What is a content management system (CMS)? • How Drupal uses all this to power your website!
