Let's introduce Reiki to more veterans and their families!
This is a wonderful opportunity to practice your Reiki skills, raise awareness of Reiki among those who have served our country, and demonstrate to the VA that Reiki is a powerful means to alleviate symptoms of PTSD.
MRC has participated in two vet services Standdown events, in June of 2012 and again in 2013. (See a recap video here.)
We have just been invited to participate in this larger event at Soldier Field alongside dozens of Healing Touch practitioners. Healing Touch is now part of the VA's wellness program nation-wide, so it is an honor to be invited to practice Reiki side-by-side with their team. They have asked us to adhere to some practice guidelines* for this event, and in the interest of building bridges between our healing community and established service organizations, we have agreed to do so.
Space is limited to 15 and is being offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register, complete this form and email it to Heather McCutcheon at [masked]. Again, the first 15 registrants will make up the MRC team for the day, and a backup/wait list will be created with those registration forms received after the limit is reached.
For this Welcome Home event, we will be set up inside the corridor at Soldier Field using massage tables which we must provide/coordinate delivery of. If you don't own a table, we will figure something out.
We're really looking forward to this!
* The suggested guidelines for participation in this event do not reflect the MRC's policy of honoring all lineages of Reiki, all Reiki techniques and all energy healing modalities. The MRC is made up of avid advocates of these diverse practices.
