Welcome to the July MilCog newsletter.
We hosted 10 events in July. Highlights include world famous game designer Steve Jackson stopping by Vintage Game Night to hang out with MilCog and sign some games for us. We also had the awesome opportunity to play his new train-game prototype. We also had many dates to play the new release Defenders of the Realm. Dave hosted ?Learn Chaos in the New World? Joe hosted a ?Command & Colors: Epic Ancients? game for 6 players. And of course there was the July Game-a-thon which also was the registration date for the RIO Grand game design contest.
The July Game-a-thon was a smash. Over 30-34 people attended consuming around 36 gallons of beverages, 47 hamburgers, 24 beer brats, a dozen hot dogs, almost an entire sheet cake, a dozen bagels with regular and raspberry cream cheese, somewhere between 5 and 8 containers of various cookies, 6 lbs of popcorn, just a couple pizzas, 8 bags of chips, a party-sized roast beef sandwich on funky bread and other various crackers / snacks / candy.
We had visitors from Oshkosh, Ridgeway, Chicago, Madison, and Rockford.
The following games were played:
Defenders of the Realm x4
Age of Steam
Summoner?s Wars x2
Shadows Over Camelot
Command & Colors: Epic Ancients
Duck Duck Go
WWI Rummy Cards
Ultimate Werewolf x 11
Werewolf had a large village and lots of roles such as Count Dracula, Zombie, Witch, Cult Leader, Lone Wolf, and lots of interesting situations including our second-ever improbable Lover?s victory!
We raffled off copies of Siena, R U a Redneck, and two copies of Zombie Dice signed by Steven Jackson himself along with 3 Game Universe gift cards. Congrads to the winners.
