Understanding Exposure & the DSLR

Understanding exposure and how the dSLR camera interprets light are very difficult concepts beginning photographers have a hard time grasping. This seminar will get you thinking about how your camera interprets light and how to record it properly.

ABOUT THIS CLASS: We will concentrate on how light is translated into a photograph. You will learn...

  • the elements of proper exposure (exposure triangle).
  • how to properly set shutter speed, aperture and ISO to get proper exposure.
  • the difference between correct exposure and creatively correct exposure.
  • the differences between aperture based and time based exposures.
  • when to use priority modes and why.
  • what conditions affect your meter so you can compensate exposure.
  • why you can't fully rely on your built-in meter.

I will also cover...

  • how to use exposure tables and calculators.
  • exposure dynamic ranges and how to extend them.

I'd like to make it but won't know until last minute. Is it possible to pay when I get there, or do I have to reserve on line?
