I'm sorry I missed this class...I was away at my annual convention. It sounds like it was really interesting! I hope it's offered again soon for those of us who couldn't make it!

This class was very informative and inspiring. I gained knowledge into the history of photography as well as techniques for using my DSLR to take well thought out black and white prints.

Going into this seminar, I was concerned and anxious about being able to understand the material presented. I went in not knowing any of the other photographers there. Mr. Shapiro was extremely friendly and sincere, had us all introduce ourselves and then gave some background on himself as well as the history of photography and the progression of black and white as an art form unto itself in today’s digital media. This may be where the poster below was disappointed in the advancement of the introduction to the first image. This is obviously a difference of opinion to my own. I enjoyed "meeting" all of the photographers and listening to them talk about what triggered their interest in photography and moreso, their passion for black and white and eagerness to learn new (and old) techniques. Mr. Shapiro teaching methods are refreshing. I am looking forward to "following" him around in the future as some of the other photographers in the group mentioned they did.

I was disappointed in the fact it took almost an hour of class time to see the 1st image. I left about 8:45 and he was only on the 3rd image. He knows his stuff as the 1st part of the class was history of photography.
From the other comments I guess the best was saved for later in the session.

Once again, Mr. Shapiro impressed all of us with his knowledge of black and white processing and photography in general. He showed us a lot of ways to convert color images to black and white. I can't wait to try out what we learned. I would definitely recommend this session for anyone.

Mr. Shapiro shared his knowledge and passion for fine Art B&W photography. I found it very helpful to see the images processed in real time and then analyzed as to how the photo editing improved the photo.

Harold always comes well-prepared and delivers his point in a pleasant manner. His asides and definitions/history lessons help to bring the total topic together. Another great job tonight.

Great class with Harold Shapiro, as always. I learned so many ways to make my photographs look so much better in black and white then they did before.
