RE: our info privacy discussion suggests a Michael Diedrick of the Milw Data Initiative could be a good Milw contact. (Maybe even ACLU Milw?)

Slight correction to my previous post. 33 more states are needed, not 32.

This resolution passed by well over 2-1 margin.
    5335 Yes - 2419 No

There is a nation wide group call Wolf PAC that is actively attempting to get enough states in our union to call for an Article V constitutional convention to address this issue. This past Friday Vermont was the first state to pass a resolution in both legislative champers to call for a constitutional convention. (32 more to go. 2/3 of the states are needed.) There are a few other states that have passed similar resolutions in one of their legislative champers; Illinois, Texas, California, and New Hampshire, so there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. If you are interested in finding out more about the Wisconsin effort go to this web site -

There is a group in Waukesha called Grassroots Waukesha ( that got enough signatures to put a resolution on the City of Waukesha ballot this past election on April 1. The resolution read:

Shall the City of Waukesha adopt the following

RESOLVED, the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin,
calls for reclaiming democracy from the
corrupting effects of undue corporate influence
by amending the United States Constitution to
    establish that:
    1. Only human beings, not corporations,
    unions, nonprofit organizations nor similar
    associations are entitled to constitutional
    rights, and
    2. Money is not speech, and therefore
    regulating political contributions and
spending is not equivalent to limiting
    political speech.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we hereby
instruct our state and federal representatives
to enact resolutions and legislation to
    advance this effort.

Hi everyone. I just joined this book club a few days ago and was planning to be at today's meeting, but something came up. I am very interested in this topic because Prof. Lessig's ideas make sense. I just got his book yesterday so I have not read it yet. The Young Turks (TYT - discuss this issue a lot. So does David Pakman. (

Both The Young Turks and David Pakman post a lot of videos on YouTube.
