The October Vegan Meetup--Lunch!

Kim Fisher-Isaacs has been working overtime, everyone! Please join us for the lunchtime October meetup (we're having two meetups this month!) at Ichiban Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar, a long-time presence in the local vegan-dining scene located at 2336 N. Farwell Ave. Voted best in the City by SPC Travel Network reviewers, this popular establishment has abundant vegan options that will have you ordering extra to take home! With the largest selection of fresh sushi in Milwaukee, including 12 vegan options, light and crispy salads, appetizers and a large variety of noodle dishes Ichiban draw raves from the regulars at this well-liked Japanese restaurant on Milwaukee’s east side. Japanese beer and Sake are available, as well. Prices are reasonable and range from $3.25-$7.00 per roll and $7-$10 for noodle bowls. After your meal, visit the adjacent Japanese grocery – great for folks who want to "try this at home." Ichiban is a smoke-free establishment. You may view their menu at Please remember to RSVP by Friday, October 3rd so that we can call ahead with a head count. On October 4th, please arrive by noon to guarantee a seat.

Never had Japanese food before. It was better than I expected; would be better yet if I could eat the condiments that accompany the dishes (ginger, wasabi) but unfortunately, I cannot. I do think it very odd that not a single Japanese person works there, although our waiter lived in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese.
