December Vegan Meetup at County Clare

Please join us for the December Vegan Meetup at County Clare Irish Inn and Pub, located on Milwaukee’s beautiful east side at 1234 N. Astor Street. Whether you are a long-time vegan who wants to try a new place or a new vegan, curious, or just willing to try, you will not want to miss this awesome dining experience.

Kim Fisher-Isaacs says... A hidden jewel on the east side, County Clare Irish Pub has been in business for 13 years and has been recognized by Shepherd Express as the best Irish Pub in Milwaukee. They have also received positive reviews from the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and the Washington Post for their service.

Chef Troy, a vegetarian himself, is enthusiastic about offering vegan options and clearly states on the menu, “Our seitan is made from high gluten wheat flour, blended with special seasoning from the Spice House & slow simmered ‘til just right." Most of this menu can be made vegan just by omitting cheese. With three pages of salad, appetizer, sandwich and entrée options such as Irish chips, “chicken” salad, seitan corned beef and cabbage, “chicken” tarragon, vegan Shepherd’s Pie, 2 types of vegan Reubens, and 3 types of veggie burgers, there is bound to be something for everyone. You might even want to order extra to take home for dinner.

Please remember to RSVP by 12noon on Friday, December 14th, and arrive by noon on the day of to guarantee a seat. As a courtesy to the restaurant (and your fellow diners), please be prepared to pay with cash, including gratuity.

In addition, PLEASE remember to change your RSVP as your plans change. Seating is limited and we want to be able to provide an accurate head count to the restaurant. The wait list will activate once we are full, and as things change you will be notified via email if a spot opens up.

*** As a courtesy to the restaurant, we need a firm head count. No “Maybe” RSVP’s will be accepted. Any “Yes” RSVP’s that do not show up may be dropped from the Milwaukee Vegan Meetup group.***

Once again, more people signed up to attend than showed up, leaving the restaurant with beautifully set tables and vegan food waiting for someone to use it. The plus side of this was that the six of us who kept our word and showed up had a great time. The conversations was wonderful. Good time.
