Mini Pumpkin Painting at Splash (Drink and Paint)

October 12 Update:  I went to Splash and scoped out the place (and also snapped the photo below.  Their first-come first-serve seating arrangement is as follows: two banquet type tables that seat six, two high toppers that seat 4 each, and 3 tables outside that seat two or three each.  While they don't take reservations, they'll allow call ahead seating one hour ahead of when we'd like to show up.  I'll call at 5pm on the 26th and give them an anticipated head count.  I'll also cap this event at 12 + waiting list to try to ensure that everyone who has RSVP'ed will at least get a place to sit.  Again, no promises because of their reservation (lack thereof) process.

Hey Ya'll,

Halloweenie is almost upon us, and what better way to celebrate in a (hopefully) non detrimental way to yourself and others than by letting your inner artist fly free with the help of wine and beer at Splash Paint Bar in Milwaukee.

Here's the general information:
http://www.splashmilwaukee.com/newsreel/pumpkin-painting-season/
The concept is simple - everyone who wants to go meets at around 6pm at Splash, we pay the proprietors 13$ for the pumpkin and supplies, and then start painting and sipping on wine and/or beer.  I don't mean for this to sound obvious, but the 13$ does not include what you drink.

Note - they don't take reservations for the mini painting sessions, so this will be more of a first come first serve type deal where if there's space outside on the patio or inside at the bar - we try to all sit together as a group (but it's not guaranteed).

For those who have RSVP'ed "Yes":

    - Please adjust your RSVP accordingly if you know that you won't be able to make it. There were a few people who had expressed interest but got moved to the wait list.
    - The cost is 13$ to paint the pumpkin and for the materials. This does not include what you consume in terms of food or drink
    - Splash is at the corner of Broadway and Chicago. There's usually metered spots on either of those streets, but you may need to go as far as Menomonee if it ends up being crowded.

I'll leave my cell phone in the comment field as the time draws nearer for people who are having problems finding us.

For those who may be coming late and RSVP'ed "No" - we still may be there at 8pm or so either painting or hanging out. Come say "hey" if you'd like.

If you're able to make it off of the wait list to the main RSVP list: 43 to 794 East. Exit at Jackson and follow it till Chicago. Take a right at Chicago and it'll be at the corner of Chicago and Broadway. Physical address is 184 N Broadway.

Bummer. I suspect you'll see a few of us (those that paint very slowly, or who don't know how to paint at all, or who are just there for the wine)

Looking forward to Saturday! It will be a nice change from carving pumpkins!

Yeah, should be a neat time. Having very little artistic talent when it comes to painting, mine should look...well, interesting.

Well.... I must ti say something!!! On October 1st I dumped my motorcycle, I had surgery (a plate + 6 screws, broken fibula) and after being on a cast for 6 weeks I discover a talent I started painting with acrylic on canvas!! I've been selling my art work. Lol

I want to do this just to experience a "painting bar". That must be seen by my eyes. It must!

    1 · October 10, 2013

    • W A.

Ha! Just think of it as a regular bar. With pumpkins that you decorate. Or something like that. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but whenever I walk by, the majority of the guys are congregated outside drinking beer and maybe just half painting what they're working on.
