See a free advance screening of Tom Hanks's new movie "Saving Mr. Banks"

This is not an official meetup for our group, as there's no possible way we would be able to all sit together. But this is a free event, first come first serve, and I figured I would share the details with all of you!

Tom Hanks' big Christmas movie this year is "Saving Mr. Banks", in which he plays none other than Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as the author of Mary Poppins. The Oscar contender movie is generating big buzz, and this is your chance to see it for free over a month before it's widely released.

If you haven't been to an advance screening like this before, be aware that these events are first come first serve, and they WILL deny people entrance once the theater is full. For 7:00 PM showings like this, people start to line up as early as 3 PM. (I have in the past shown up as late as 5 PM, and I've still managed to get in.)

To print out your free pass, just click on this link and print out the photo. (You may have to have a Facebook account in order to see the photo.) Bring your print-out with you, get there early, and you should be good to go!

Hope you enjoy the movie. I intend to be there, so feel free to say hi!

Bad news - Mike (the boyfriend) couldn't get his work schedule changed. We won't be able to make it.

Looks really awesome; sadly it's my weekly Chicago stayover for work. You all enjoy!

We just attended one of these for The Delivery Man on Wednesday. I was just asking the boyfriend how to get to do more of these! Thanks for sharing.

Attending free advance screenings became my hobby last March, and all throughout the summer. I'm a little bit of a free-stuff junkie, so when I discovered there was a whole subculture around free moving screenings, I was totally in. I met one dude who hasn't paid to see a movie in 15 years, but who sees movies on nearly a weekly basis.
