Lightning Talks!

This month we will be doing Lightning Talks!

This month anyone in the group can be a presenter, just come with 5 minutes of discussion on your favorite JavaScript topic or a project you have recently done and share it with the group.  Your lightning talk can cover anything relating to JavaScript, including your favorite app framework, JavaScript testing, an awesome project you've worked on, and whatever you can imagine.

If you'd like, please post a topic you'd like to discuss in the comments below.  We will also be taking suggestions at the beginning of the meetup and don't worry, we will be allowing some discussion time during the night to build upon the 5 minute talks.

And don't forget about our awesome sponsor Corvisa!  They will be providing us with some great food and drinks for the night.  Grab a slice of pizza and have a beer or soda on them to get properly prepared for your lightning talk.

Assuming that area is still under heavy construction, is there a place to park, or just shoot for street parking?

Assuming the construction hasn't moved since last I've been there, here's what I do when coming from the South. I go up Dr. Martin Luther King Dr., take a right on Pleasant St, a block down you'll see a parking lot. I believe there are tiny Corvisa signs on the parking lot entrance, but I could be wrong. The building is next to the lot.

To make sure things go along smoothly tonight, we are going to start with about 30 mins to prepare for lightning talks/drink beer. If you are planning on giving a quick talk and know what it is, would you please leave a comment to help us better prepare for tonight.

I can do a quick introduction to boxing-ring.js. A work in progress open source library I'm working on.

I'm a solid "maybe" now. Movers may or may not be done by then.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make this one.

I can do a quick talk of how I've use Mocha and Chai to do js testing on both server and client side!
I'd definitely encourage anyone doing anything JavaScript at work or on the side to also post what you're thinking of bringing up. No need for any formal slides, but if you do have slides, we'll set up a common laptop to be used for slides.

This is a great opportunity to share what your passionate about with the group. If you've never spoken in public before this is a GREAT way to get started, you are only up there for 5 minutes so it's no big deal! Don't be shy!
