Overview of Upcoming EcmaScript 6 Features

Presented by Paul Sanchez, @basicdays

EcmaScript 6 (es6) is an up and coming new JavaScript specification that is currently in the final stages of being standardized. EcmaScript 5 (es5) was released to add a number of features to clean up the language and prepare the language for future updates. ES6 is the first of those updates, code-named Harmony.

ES6 has included new syntax to add shorthand for often used language features, class syntax to help write class based objects, functional features such as generators and proper tail calls, and modules to aid in organization and loading of code. We'll be discussing, and possibly demoing some of these features to provide what awesome new features that are both available now, and will be coming up in the near future.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
