Strategies and practices to free you from anxiety, fear and panic!

Description: Drawing on strategies and knowledge from two different traditions, this workshop offers you a powerful and profound approach to overcome anxiety, fear and panic. From the Western Psychology and Neuroscience, learn the role your thoughts and emotions play in anxiety. From the tradition of meditation and self-reflective practices, discover your potential for presence, stillness, kindness and self-compassion. 

Topics to be addressed:
 Learn about the mechanism of anxiety and the body’s fear system
 Stress and False Alarms: Paper Tiger Paranoia
 How to tap into your parasympathetic nervous system and calm yourself down
 Develop a healing mindfulness practice
 Meditative practices: Body Scan, Working with difficult emotions, Befriending (loving kindness) meditation. 

The course is inspired and follows the methodology of Jeffrey Brantley, MD - Duke Department of Psychiatry and Center for Integrative Medicine.

Facilitator: Ela Amarie I am a psychologist, helping people manage stress and other emotional difficulties and make positive changes in their life, using mindfulness as a main approach. I am certified as a meditation teacher by Santa Barbara institute for Consciousness Studies and also an MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) teacher and member of Swiss Mindfulness Association. My courses combine modern psychology and latest discoveries in neuroscience with mind and body approaches such as meditation, self-reflective practices, mindful movement and breathing.
