    Hi Barl--Thanks for your comment. This group does Mindfulness Meditation. There are 100's of ways to meditate. You could do your own way at our meetings, no problem, but we do not use music or spoken word during the meditation. There's great stuff on the internet about Mindfulness if you want to learn more specifically. Glad you came and hope to see you next time--Christine

    Hi all. So...."sitting"....will any comfortable pillow do the trick? That's right...I am brand new at this.

      Hi Jim! Pillows for meditation are very firm, keep your behind lifted up about 6" from floor which allows your hip joints to relax and less pressure on the lower legs. There will likely be one or more "zazen" pillows brought to the meeting, so you could try one for a minute to see how it feels. One group member bought a rectangular one for $21 on amazon. Fine to use a chair for your first time or always, for that matter. Thanks for asking your question!
