Following our special MiniBar on augmented reality we are focussing on 'mobile apps'. This is a sector full of opportunities prompting pundits to laud the arrival of the 'apps economy, which according to NESTA is expected to rise from £2.7Bn to £19Bn in 2013. While the iphone gets all the hype, we will ask what platforms one should develop on, what revenue models work best and how to market your app.

AudioBoo - Mark Rock, CEO - AudioBoo let's you record and upload interviews (boos) almost instantly onto the web and is being used by such tech celebreties as Steven Fry and organizations such as Radio 4
RevelMob - Roman Gregorjev, CEO - a niche iPhone developer concentrating only on share-revenues schemes and joint ventures. They are due to launch several cool joint venture apps in the next few weeks (one with the in-house cartoonist of the Economist magazine!).
Margaret Gold - Margaret was the community manager for Vodafone Betavine and is now setting up a mobile innovation center at Imperial College with partnership opportunities for industry.
On the night we will also have 5 x 20 sec pitches where attendees can on the spot (on first come first serve basis) get on stage pitch their idea, company, app, product service, announce vacancies etc. The only rules are you need to say your name, company name and say something that is relevant to people at MiniBar.

John OlivalReally noisy, I couldn't hear some of the pitches, also because some speakers did not hold the mic close to their mouths.The 5x20s pitches were similar - could each have a url/person/co name on the screen in the background?

Isaac Moshe+1 guestBrings together an interesting collection of entrepreneurs, developers and other people within the industry in a relaxed atmosphere. Great for meeting new people and finding out more about what's happening at a grass-roots level, especially with regards to new ventures / start-ups.
Only major let down is the venue which has limited seating and poor acoustics, making it hard to hear everything the speakers have to say.

Doug LA bunch of interested and interesting attendees with everyone up for networking. Usual mix of people trying to sell their services, guys just curious, very few looking for simply a social evening out. So good from that aspect. The official presentation content was poor - poorly prepared, poorly presented and poorly supported by the presentation arrangements/organisation. Standing in front of the projection, mumbled, 3 way chat about a college organisation not on topic at all from what I could understand. Last guy tried his best but all pretty basic info and I'm not aN overly knowledgable participant.
I admit I gave up before the 20sec presentations.
Summary - enjoyed the networking but content left a lot to be desired.
Hope this helps in some way as a lot of effort has obviously goes into this and is appreciated

LoicI think that the pitching time should be a bit earlier during the evening and then followed by networking. Another idea, I think that the venue is big enough to accommodate for instance 3 different spaces for pitches with each one on a different topic. Therefore the audience could watch the pitches they are interested in.
