Hi all
its MiniBar again this Friday with a fun geeky mix ranging from geo apps to . We are in particular happy that Cloudmade will make an appearance and sponsor drinks, who have been long time friends of MiniBar.
Back in 2007 Nick Black and Steve Coast, who we had known back from early Open Street Map days showed Cloudmade at MiniBar and now three years later and just haveing raised $12.3 million in series B funding they are probably the most innovative geo-location company around.
In addition we have a few other presentations and again some 1 minute slots for interesting announcements. If you want to get onto the list for 1 minute presentations please email us at info at openbusiness.cc
And UKTI's commercial staff from the British Embassies and Consulates in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand will be at MiniBar to talk with people who want to find contacts in these countries to sell to.
Also check out our upcoming workshops on Fundraising and Investment, Business Model Development, Drupal 101
and Upturn Workshops on Online Business Essentials.
Programme:
Cloudmade - Nick Black, co-founder
Go Lightly - Eleanor McHugh, Lead Developer
UKTI - Richard Lewis
Sponsor: Cloudmade
btw: MiniBar relies on sponsorship - so if you want to reach 3400+ of London's and beyond web entrepreneurs, developers and digital media specialists let us know at info at openbusiness.cc
Considering this is close to brick lane, will anyone be going for a curry afterwards lol
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Talk to me about available funding if your company develops bespoke software/platform/system/apps.
Tomorrow night I'll be presenting my GoLightly project which is an open-source library for building the next generation of virtual machines with Google's Go language. It's geeky, it's developer-oriented tech, and I have no idea how to make a living out of it!
So if there are any visionary business types who can think of a business model to monetize it, or philanthropists looking to sponsor sexy new British software technology, I'm eager to meet.
Bubbles can solve complex mathematical problems of space. A bubble will always find the smallest surface area between points or edges - look out for the Bubbles tomorrow..!
