Buca w/Brian and Arcading Afterwards, May 23rd, 1:00 p.m., Mpls

Italian food followed by bowling, pinball and video games—what could be better?

Join us in celebrating Brian Knoblock's return to the Twin Cities by stuffing yourself at Buca di Beppo, then burning off the calories at Gameworks. Brian is a long-time long-distance member of MNA, and he's finally making the move to Minnesota. If you haven't met him at an MNA picnic or befriended him on Facebook, here's your chance to find out why he's such a big fan of Riff Trax, obscure mathematics texts and even more obscure sports leagues.

The fun starts at one p.m. at Buca di Beppo, 1204 Harmon Place in Minneapolis. You can order your own entree or share a platter with other hungry heathens, but be sure to bring an appetite. If you want to skip straight to the arcade, meet us at Gameworks on Block E, 600 Hennepin Avenue, at around 3:30. Look for the people in the purple and white Minnesota Atheist t-shirts.

Those of you attending only one part of this double-header should indicate which one in your RSVP comment. If you're having lunch, no canceling after 5 p.m. on the 22nd, because the reservation will be set by then. Since we can't make "maybe" reservations, that response is not an option.

It'll be a blast. See you then!

While Buca was a bit crowded, GameWorks was great afterward.

Buca food has never been my favorite Italian fare, but at least you know that it will be consistently mediocre. The turn out was large so the seating was less than ideal for talking to everyone. I was happy to meet some new and interesting people in the group.

Good food, good people, good games...an excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

What a great idea! Thanks for organizing - Rhody and I had a lot of fun. I want one of those race-car games in my living room...does that seem unreasonable? And - welcome to Minnesota, Brian!

Turns out, Brian is a real person. And a fun one, at that.

We get to meet your DAD too???? OMS, this is going to rock.

But seriously, I need someone to play Big Buck Hunter with me. Also, I can't promise I will be super awesome since we are hosting a pub night the night before in Mankato for the southern group.

I updated mine to add one guest. Yes, my father is actually willing to meet a bunch of Atheists.
