Last Chance to Rollerblade at the Metrodome! Wed., March 13, 6:30 p.m., Mpls

The Metrodome faces demolition next year, so this is the final season to Rollerblade on the smooth, level concourses known as the Rollerdome. Even if you've never put on a pair of inline skates in your life, this is the perfect place to start. Aside from the already mentioned smooth, level, circular track, slower skaters stay on the outside and more experienced ones hug the inner lane, so bladers of all abilities can get along. Rentals are available, the skates are top-notch, and optional safety gear (helmets and such) is included. And parking is free! Just go to Gate D. For more information, visit:

http://www.roller-dome.com/page/show/670822-metrodome-skating

Admission is $6.50 for adults, $5.50 for students, and $4.50 for kids. Optional skate rentals cost an additional $5.00 per pair. But if we gather a group of at least ten skating atheists, we'll qualify for the group rate of $6.00 per adult.

Look for your host near the entrance by the skate rentals and admission area. We can stay as late as 9 p.m. If you'd like to go to a local watering hole afterwards, please say so in your RSVP. Suggestions are welcome!

Don't miss the chance to experience Rollerdome before it becomes a fond blader memory!

Great fun, real people, a good time is easy when I 'm on skates.

BTW, safety equipment rental is free. I think we should go out aftewards but I think Huberts is the only place close by and I don't want to spend the eveing driving around.

Not to worry, Erik. Wednesday nights are much less crowded than the weekends (when you went with another Meetup group) and there will be no skating on the bottom level--only rentals and admittance. I'll be waiting there from 6:15 to 6:30, wearing my Minnesota Atheists t-shirt--I won't be difficult to find. I'm guessing Heather will be wearing hers, too, so if you arrive late, you'll find us skating around the track upstairs. And we'll look for your big white beard!

Parking is free in the lot on the east side of the Dome. Always plenty available.

Oh good! I have always had to pay up there. I will look for it, then.

The closest place to go afterwards is Hubert's (across the street), but I don't know how long we can leave our cars in the Metrodome lot. Pizza Luce is another possibility, but we'd have to drive a few blocks and find street parking.

I attended another meet up at the RollerDome, it was so crowded we almost didn't find any other folks. Only as I was leaving did I finally meet another Meet Up participant and she only recognized me from my big white beard. We should have a way to find each other and maybe get Chet to announce on the PA system.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
