Newbie Night VII -July 8, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Common Roots Cafe, Mpls.

For those who missed out when reservations for the first six Newbie Nights filled up almost immediately, and for those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup, we are proud to announce Newbie Night VII.

Newbie Nights are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or never got a chance to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. Three small group discussions with conversation topics provided will give you a chance to meet lots of new, like-minded people. We've reserved the meeting room at Common Roots until 8:30 p.m., but anyone who wants to continue their conversations is welcome to stay a bit later. Street parking is available, but you may have to walk a block.

Common Roots doesn't charge us to reserve the space because we're a nonprofit organization, but we should reward their kindness by purchasing a beverage, snack, or meal.

Since Newbie Nights are in high demand, we're not allowing "maybe" RSVPs. We've reserved for 25, so if you are interested and will go, please RSVP. Keep your RSVP updated if your plans change, so another Newbie can take your place!

First time in the same room with so many other atheists was inspiring. I got a lot out of the meeting, and I'm looking forward to more meetups.

Excellent discussions--energy level in room very high (which posed a problem for me, however, as I can't hear conversation in noisy surroundings).

Due to the full house and limited space, it could be hard to hear, but the enthusiasm, intelligence and humor of the participants made this a great evening. Wish I could have talked to everyone, and hope to see them all again at future meetups.

Thanks! I wish I could do another - it took me awhile to settle in and it went by so fast.

I want to let all the Newbies, (and Oldies like me) know about the Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist Show at Sweeney's Saloon in St Paul July 11.
This one man, two act comedy, subtitled Patriarchs and Penises, is followed by a meet-and-greet social hour with Brother Sam. The 2 hour show starts at 8PM. See for tickets and more info.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
