Job Search Networking/Support Group Wed Oct 28 12-2 p.m. Augsburg Park Richfield

Are you a freethinker/bright/atheist/humanist who is un/underemployed or otherwise 'in transition'? The second meeting of our job search support group will be held on Wednesday, October[masked]pm at Augsburg Park Library, 7100 Nicollet Avenue in Richfield. We'll be focusing on resumes and cover letters. Bring copies of your resume if you want feedback, or come to provide support and feedback to others. First timers and repeat visitors are all welcome. Let's provide coaching, support and expertise to our own community!

Each meeting will include introductions, status updates, focus on a selected topic and some extra time to just talk about our experience with job transition. Let's keep it very practical and small enough to provide individual help member to member.

There's plenty of free parking in the library lot, and the meeting room I've reserved is easy to find. Just look to the right upon entering the library.

Please RSVP for the meetup and if you have any questions or comments you can reach me at [masked] (Erica Klein). I look forward to our second meeting on Wednesday, October 28, noon-2pm at Augsburg Park Library, 7100 Nicollet Avenue in Richfield.

This meetup is a great alternative to church associated job support groups. Erica Klein, as well as Elaine, both with human resources backgrounds have very good tips and recommendations for resumes, interviews and other job hunting activities. The comment about no one having any contacts is certainly not accurate. People in this group are diverse, and with such diverse occupations most may not have contacts in other industries.

This is the first networking group I've been in, but it seems like nobody except the two people leading it actually have any contacts, and I think they only even mentioned one.

Good job hunting tips and the emotional support is also beneficial. I find it motovating to meet with people who are in the same situation.

Thank you everyone for coming. Please email me with ideas for topics to focus on in future meetings, and if you'd like me to look over your resume, please send it to [masked]. I'll watch for your reviews and probably schedule another meeting in about 3 weeks.
