Public Lecture: The Happy Atheist by PZ Myers

We are pleased to announce that our September speaker will be our very own PZ Myers.  He will be reading from his new book, The Happy Atheist.

PZ Myers is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota in Morris.  He is the author of two world-famous blogs, both named Pharyngula: one on atheism on Freethought Blogs ( and the other on evolution on Science Blogs (

His essay, “It’s the Little Things,” appeared in Atheist Voices of Minnesota.  He is the recipient of the 2009 Humanist of the Year award from the American Humanist Association (AHA) and the 2011 International Humanist Award from the International Ethical and Humanist Union (IHEU).  He even has an asteroid named after him: Asteroid[masked] Paulmyers.
