Join us for an awesome afternoon of testimony from a former diehard ghost hunter and parapsychology undergrad turned skeptic.
Our very own Todd Torkelson spent his late teens and early twenties renting haunted hotel rooms, leading ghost tours, stockpiling ghost documentaries and investigating paranormal claims in his home town of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In preparation for a career as a professional parapsychologist, he considered attending UCLA (where the infamous Entity case was studied), Duke University (where ESP cards were developed) and Yale (where majoring in paranormal studies wasn't unheard of at the time). Todd will cover the "theories" of what ghosts are supposed to be, ghost hunting techniques, the anatomy of an investigation and a rundown of the most prominent researchers in parapsychology today. And, of course, Todd will tell us how he went from being a ghost hunter to a nonbeliever who is an active member of the skeptic community.
Todd Torkelson is from Albuquerque, New Mexico and graduated from St. Olaf College in '97 where he ended up studying psychology and multicultural studies. He currently works in the IT field and is active in the Freethought movement.
Afterwards, a bunch of us will be going to The Panda Garden Buffet for Chinese food and conversation. Specters, phantoms and wraiths eat free!

Thanks to Todd for the great presentation. We found it really interesting and I'm glad we were able to make it out. I wish we could have stayed longer and chatted more. It was really nice to finally meet some of you. :-)

Had to work and my day at work sucked. I wish I could have been there--it would have been more fun! It got 4 stars so it must have been good! Hopefully next time. :)
