Newbie Night at Common Roots Cafe - August 25, 6:30 p.m., Mpls.

Newbie Night moves from its regular venue in St. Paul to uptown Minneapolis. In case anybody's counting, this is Newbie Night XV.

For those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup, and for those who have not yet had a chance to meet their fellow nonbelievers, we are proud to announce Newbie Night XV.

Newbie Nights are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or haven't had much opportunity to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. Three small group discussions with conversation topics provided will give you a chance to meet lots of new, like-minded people. We've reserved the Common Room at Common Roots Cafe until 8:30 p.m. Leave yourself some time to find street parking—you may have to walk a block or two.

Common Roots Cafe isn't charging us to reserve the space because we're a nonprofit organization, but we should reward their kindness by purchasing a beverage, snack, or meal. They have a full menu, featuring soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

Since Newbie Nights are in high demand, we're not allowing "maybe" RSVPs. We've reserved for 20, so if you are interested and will go, please RSVP. Keep your RSVP updated if your plans change, so another Newbie can take your place!

Sadly I get off of work at 6:30 pm, and it will take about 30min to get there, how bad would it be if someone were say 30min late?

Ryan, feel free to RSVP and get to Common Roots when you can. We'll fit you into a discussion group when you arrive.

I really enjoy meeting new nonbelievers, and this group did not disappoint. Diverse backgrounds, all smart and interesting. Looking forward to seeing everyone at future events.
