Bowling for Deities at Memory Lanes, Mpls

No RSVP limit, but if you show up late you may not be able to bowl with the group if our lanes are filled and an adjacent one is not available.

It's now official: our bowling Meetup has found the right hook, strikes the right note, and spares no puns. Judging by the great time everyone has whenever we do it, Bowling for Deities is a MNA Meetup favorite. Each bowler chooses the god or goddess of his or her choice, appeals to said imaginary being, and finds out whether their particular deity rewards them with the best score. You can be any god or goddess you like, but must be specific ("god" is just too vague).

Our venue is Memory Lanes, a fun and funky bowling haven in the heart of Minneapolis. Assuming their third-game-for-a-dollar special is still going on, we'll plan on getting three games in before retiring to the fabulous Flashback Cafe and Cocktail Lounge for a late lunch. Cost is $5 per game, $3 for shoe rental. For more bowling info:

Hi all, firstly I want to apologize for taking so long time to post photos from this bowling event. There are a lot of them so I have uploaded them to my Copy. This is public link so you can download even if you dont have account on Copy. Its about 600 mb. Give me a message if you have problem downloading them and we can figure something different.

The sun got in my eye! Apparently, the Dakota solar God Wi, was not impressed with my bowling abilities.

Ra rewarded, Frey was fickle, and Crom offered a crown.

My goddess let me down, but it was a fun afternoon as usual! Sorry Jason couldn't make it.

So we pick our own gods, do we? Ok, being a eurogame enthusiast, I'll pick Ra after one of my favorite games. Sorry to do this to you, Ra.

After much deliberation and a couple IPAs, I've decided to switch to the the Dakota Sun God "Wi". No; not as in Nintendo Wii, just plain Wi. This is in deference to my Great-Grandmother; a full blooded Sissenton-Wahpaton (pretty much the only tribe without a casino) Dakota Native American, explaining my ability to tan easily. She spent nearly her entire adult life in the "Fairbault Home for the Feeble Minded", explaining my inability to comprehend the physics of a rolling 16 pound ball.

I haven't bowled in decades. Try to stifle your laughter!

Don't worry! I bowled 46 a couple of months ago. I'm only slightly better now!

No expectations = No disappointments. Anyway, the important part is they have a good selection of beer.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
