Freethought Toastmasters Open House

Monday, November 20, 2006, 6:00 PM Do you ever freeze-up in front of crowds? Do you have trouble talking to god-believers and want to learn to communicate better about atheism? Do you wish to learn to organize your thoughts and express yourself better? Do you wish to find a community of people who want to talk about the same things you do? Then Freethought Toastmasters may be for you.

Toastmasters is the leading world-wide organization devoted to helping people speak in front of crowds, and develop leadership skills and self-confidence. Toastmasters has Clubs in 90 different countries and approximately 211,000 members. Started by Ralph Smedley in 1924 as a way to help young people develop speaking skills, it has helped over 4 million people.

Freethought Toastmasters started as a project of Minnesota Atheists and has been meeting since 1997. We specialize in speaking about topics of interest to the atheist community, but our membership is open to anyone. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays in the Party Room at Larpenteur Estates, 1276 Larpenteur Ave. W., St. Paul, MN 55113 (enter in the rear of the complex, between the two buildings). We start at 6 p.m. and our meeting usually lasts until 7 or 7:30 p.m.

We will hold an open house on Monday, November 20. Meeting roles will be explained and we will be happy to answer your questions about Toastmasters and our Club.

We cordially invite all interested parties to this special night,

Brian Perry

The Freethought Toastmaster club is a great way to talk about enthusiasm about a topic that is normally forbidden. Toastmasters is also a great way to meet new friends!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
