Newbie Night IV - April 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Java Train, St. Paul

We've reserved room for 20. Come by and relax on tax day!

For those who missed out when reservations for the first three Newbie Nights filled up almost immediately, and for those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup, we are proud to announce Newbie Night IV.

Newbie Nights are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or never got a chance to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. We've reserved the meeting room at Java Train until 8:30 p.m., but anyone who wants to continue their conversations is welcome to stay later.

This Newbie Night is catered with coffee and pastries, so rather than buy your own, everyone pitches in $3.00 for unlimited coffee, ice water, and a variety of muffins, coffee cakes, and scones!

RSVPs are mandatory! We've reserved for 20, so if you are interested and will go, please RSVP. Keep your RSVP updated if your plans change.

The meetup was great. I met a lot of people that I can relate to and actually have a rational conversation with! It was a nice change. The only downside was that there were almost half as many people there as I thought would be attending. A slightly larger group would have been nice.

It was a really good first experience. It was a diverse group of people - lifetime atheists, agnostics, recent "converts", even people still on the fence about God and religion. The discussion topics were very good, I found it really interesting to hear people's point of view and experiences.
The only complaints I have, and I'm sorry if this is just me being nit-picky, is that the place had harsh overhead lighting which I felt kind of uncomfortable under. Also - and of course this is not the organizers fault - I was a bit annoyed at the fact that there were so many people who had RSVP'd that did not show up, and of the people who did show up, many of them arrived late (some up to 45 min late). I mean, there was a waiting list to attend, so I found that pretty inconsiderate.

This was a fun, interesting group. Java Train was a good venue. Anyone who had the chance to attend and didn't missed out on a great time.

I've been waiting a long time to finally be able to get to a newbie night. This one fit into my schedule and I'm so glad it did. It was great to engage in conversations with like-minded people. Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
