What we’re about
Minnesota Atheists is Minnesota's oldest and largest atheist organization. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization that seeks to promote the positive contributions of atheism to society, provides a community for nonbelievers, educates the public about atheism, and promotes separation of state and church. We help make atheism part of mainstream society. We look forward to meeting you!
We are a member-supported organization. Everyone who works for Minnesota Atheists is a volunteer, but getting our word out does cost money. This site, our website, mailing newsletters, filming a cable TV show and participating in public events like festivals and parades all add up. We can do all of this thanks to you!

(kitty-corner from the library)How has the atheist movement changed and where should we go from here?
We will have a discussion between panelists who are Minnesota Atheists leaders and everyone in the audience who would like to be part of the conversation. We welcome your thoughts and ideas. August Berkshire, and perhaps other panelists, will have just returned from the American Atheists national convention in Philadelphia, March 29-31, 2024.
Many surveys show the continued rise of “Nones” (people with no religion) as a percentage of the U.S. population. This includes an increase of the percentage of people who are atheists.
The internet has made it easier to find arguments against god-belief, and social media has made it easier for atheists to connect with other atheists. These are two roles that local atheist groups typically fulfilled. Even so, people do like to get together from time to time.
What should be the focus of Minnesota Atheists going forward? What would you like to see Minnesota Atheists do?
