Announcing a new Meetup for Minnesota Atheists Meetup Group!

What: Film Noir Night at the Heights Theatre - Feb. 1, 7:15 p.m.

When: Monday, February 1,[masked]:15 PM

Heights Theatre
3951 Central Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55421

For the discriminating MNA film buff who appreciates the finest cinema experience available in the Twin Cities, you are invited to the beautifully restored Heights Theatre ( to see Night and the City, a classic yet underappreciated British Noir from 1950, starring Richard Widmark and Gene Tierney.

From the Heights' website:

"it may well be the definitive Film Noir in its hyperactive transmutations of London into a web of alleys and underground dens, its fevered chiaroscuro, its angular, fragmented images, and in Richard Widmark's bravura performance of a born loser." - Foster Hirsch

The plot:
Harry Fabian (Richard Widmark) is a London hustler with ambitious plans that never work out. One day, when he encounters the most famous Greco-Roman wrestler in the world, Gregorius, at a London wrestling arena run by his son Kristo, he dreams up a scheme that he thinks will finally be his ticket to financial independence. As Fabian attempts to con everyone around him to get his scheme to work, he of course only ends up conning himself.

This Meetup is not for everyone, but if you love Film Noir, classic films, and beautiful movie theatres, you'll want to be in front of the Heights at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st to join us for the 7:30 show. Admission is $8.00.
