For those who have just joined the Minnesota Atheists Meetup and for those who have not yet had a chance to meet their fellow nonbelievers, we are pleased to announce Newbies on Sunday, the seventeenth in our popular series of Newbie Meetups.
Newbie Meetups are specifically designed for those who've never attended an MNA Meetup before or haven't had much opportunity to interact with other MNA Meetup members. It can be intimidating to be the only person in the room who doesn't know anybody else, so here's an event where EVERYONE has come to meet like-minded people they've never met before. Three small group discussions with conversation topics provided will give you a chance to talk with lots of new, like-minded people. We've reserved one of the downstairs meeting rooms (The Southern Railway Room, to be precise) at Java Train until 3:30 p.m. Street parking is available, but you may have to walk a block.
Java Train Coffee Shop and Cafe is located on a side street between the State Fairgrounds and Como Zoo. They don't charge us to reserve the space because we're a nonprofit organization, but ask us to reward their kindness by purchasing a beverage, snack, or meal. They have a full menu, featuring dinners, soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts (including ice cream). Check out their website for more information:
Past Newbie Meetups have filled up fairly quickly, so don't delay your RSVP if you're fairly certain you can make it. We've reserved for 20 and ask that you keep your RSVP updated if your plans change, so another Newbie can take your place!

I just got onto the wait list. I really hope a spot opens up, I've been meaning to go to one of these for a while now.
