Information about HMF:

Welcome to HMF, a place for social drinking and eating. Named for The Breakers’ founding father, Henry Morrison Flagler and designed by the internationally-renowned Adam D. Tihany (Per Se, Restaurant Daniel, Le Cirque 2000, MO Bar London), this thrillingly glamorous retreat is an ode to golden era Palm Beach, with all of its high style and unapologetic decadence.

Nestled on the site of the historic Florentine Room, where decades of socialites and Hollywood elite reigned supreme, HMF maintains Palm Beach’s signature luxe charm while offering a modern menu designed for combining, sharing and experimentation. With a carefully curated list of classic cocktails, an award-winning wine list and highly addictive dishes, this glittering room is a sumptuous tribute to Palm Beach highlife, then and now.

Ann, Thank You for your Post about the Event and what you had Posted in the Original Post about the Event. As a Co Organizer in another group, I know what you go thru in getting the info, posting and answering a TON of questions about an Event. I find that the members half-ass read the info when it's all there in the Post and then come to the Events expecting you to hold their hand to make sure they have a good time. They come late(hrs. late) and expect everyone to still be at an event or waiting for them at the door. Yes I was a little disappointed that there was no Dancing, but I could of left and gone somewhere else to dance.

These Events are good. We put the venues out there for the members to attend, only it's up to the members to make them fun and enjoyable. We'll NEVER be able to Please Everyone, but do strive to make sure the Majority do have fun. You sat right by the entrance of the corridor to the restaurant and had a sign. I know you left a few times to look for members and make sure everyone got a table. It was a Nice venue and I would go again. Keep up the Great work you are doing. THANK YOU ANN!!!!

Anne & Roger, I appreciate your efforts in coordinating this event. Roger- thank you for the warm welcome and taking time to greet people in the Main Hall and Anne, thank you for staying later at the Mixers table to ensure everyone, including us late attendees, were taken care of. You are the consummate hostess. I had a lovely evening and made some wonderful new connections.

By the way - no food was promised or drink -- we told everyone and it was posted that information. If you had a bad time - sorry about that. I had a great time and enjoyed the beauty of the Breakers, the lighting and Christmas decorations and the excitement of the evening.

Just to let everyone know that there was nothing in the title of this meet up that said "Party". It stated it was a Pre-New Year's Get Together and the 3rd Birthday Bash for the Magazine.
We worked as best as we could to help people be seated at tables that wanted to eat and drink. This was a get together at The Breakers.

The Birthday Bash started between 10pm and 11pm, and if you check out the pictures from the Event, you can see that alot of people were talking, mingling and meeting. Unfortunately, I was wrong about the dancing, but the dj cranked up the music as the evening got later.

Unfortunately, I can set up these events, but it is you that have to have fun yourself. There were plenty of people to talk to, and those that hung out together had a great time.

What time did the festivities start? We were there around 7:30 and left around 9:00. No one we inquired with from the group seated at our dining table knew what was expected. While departing, another couple was lesbian cause they were expecting music and dancing. From our perspective, it was a waste of time and money. More communication would have been useful. May be next time will be better.

Couldn't spot your table, as I don't know any of you yet!

I was actually right by the restaurant at 6pm and we were sitting in a cluster of couches and chairs. I was there all night long until we finally went to get a table after 9pm. I had a long gown on. I also had an "Awesome Mixers Sign" that I had periodically up and also was making the arm bands to give to those attending. What time did you get there?

If you didn't come out, you missed a really classy event where we all dressed up and had an awesome time. If you didn't enjoy yourself, I apologize -- not everything works out for everyone, but if you liked a beautiful environment like The Breakers and all the action that was going on - then it was fabulous. I usually don't stay out late, but I didn't leave until the party until after 1a.m. - Here are the photos that were taken from the event:

What a fun night !!...While we all could not sit together, it was nice to see everyone all dressed up. I tried my best to coordinate tables with Ann and although I did not get to meet many of the people who RSVP'd, don't know if many of you had a change of plans or we just did not cross paths since the Breakers is a very large venue. At any rate, it was a very enjoyable evening; although I'm curious what "Hank" would think about all the thumping music and butt grinding going on in his restaurant !!

Would anyone like to meet at the Publix on Bradley Place just north of Royal Poinciana Way and carpool to the Breakers (a car of 5 would save $100 in valet charges) If so, call Roger direct at[masked] to confirm a time instead of clogging up the website with chatter...

Question, Ann. I have a friend who isn't quite our age group. Can I still bring her??

    December 28, 2013

I have those bracelets from the last event at the Tribute Concert to distribute to everyone. That way, you'll know who is who. We should all try to be seated together but it may be impossible so the earlier you get there the better.

Hi Ann! I noticed the meeting time has been changed to 7:30 from 8:45. I won't be able to get there until about 8:30. Where will I be able to find all of you at that time? Will you still be in front of the Florentine room? (gorgeous room, by the way) I am sooo looking forward to the event and to meeting everyone for my very first Meetup with this group!!!

    1 · December 26, 2013

There are no additional charges to get into this event. You must spend $25.00 to avoid paying the valet service.

If you still want to dine, we will be there by 7pm but we will need to give the restaurant a count for table seating. We need your RSVP for dinner.

Also, don't forget to dress appropriately. No sneakers or jeans should be worn.
