So the client walks in expecting their website to <> and that it shouldn't cost any more. How do you fix that?

You finish up a project and present it to the client, and they tell you that wasn't what we discussed. How do you prevent that?

You tell a client that you can add that widget, but it will cost them an additional X dollars. They scoff when they see the bill. What went wrong?

One of the biggest challenges we face in our work is managing client expectations. Whether your client is a department head or executive in your company, or a freelance client, we all have to face this challenge. In this roundtable we will share with each other what we do manage scope, handle unrealistic preconceived notions, and communicate billables. We all have experiences behind us which have taught us valuable lessons. Let's share some knowledge and make everyone's next job go that much more smoothly.

Debugging CSS - Using Firebug to figure out why that gap shows up and fix it. Steve Robinson will present/facilitate this presentation on debugging your css layouts using Mozilla Firefox and Firebug. We'll throw around tips for preventing bugs and nailing them down after the fact. Join us to add your expertise, learn a trick or two, or both.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just want to say "Hi", please feel free to contact the organizer. This is your group, make it what you want it to be. Our advisory group meets once/quarter. If you would like to participate, contact the organizer, and we'll get you in the fold.
