I have not been making stuff for the Web all that long. I started back in school in 2010. I have had a computer since 1996, so I have been able to keep and follow the advances of the internet and computing. I always wanted to know more about creating for the Web, and when I got the opportunity to go back to school and learn, I was very happy. I know a Master Baker who once said about making bread "Its easy to bake bread until you start making bread." Meaning that once you start to learn more there is so much more to learn. I think that is one of the most exciting aspects of Web design.
My first love is painting. But, supporting your self and family as a painter is a pretty hard road. The reason I chose Web design, not only because I love being on my computer and making sites, is that I thought that it would play in perfect with my desired lifestyle. I am a single mom and wish to have flexibility in my schedule. I also travel with my art so I need that flexibility too. I since I can build Websites from most anywhere, I thought that it would be a great fit.
I hope to meet people and to be able to share ideas and inspirations. I know that I fit in somewhere and meeting with people will help me make connections and build not only personal, but business relationships also. I am moving back to Milwaukee from Slinger, so this group will also help with making new friends and help me maneuver through the city better.
I went through a career change and I thought that Web Design would be a great fit for me. I just graduated with an Associates degree in Web Design and Social Media Marketing. I also work as an artist, which lends itself nicely with Web Design.
