Hi Folks,
As the new organizer of this group, I want to welcome you to an exciting new season of Web Design Meetups.

A big thank you to Luke for making this a smooth transition.

For the meeting next Thursday, Oct 18th, I am going to give a quick presentation titled, W3C Standards Compliance: what it is, when it's important, and common mistakes.  I know this may not sound like a super-exciting topic, but I promise to make it fun.  There's a lot of confusion as to the value of W3C validation.  This presentation should help clear that up.

After the presentation and short Q&A/open discussion, the floor will open to a discussion of the group in general.  Key topics will include:

    ++Where do we want our topics to be on the
      technical <----> design spectrum
    ++Format and agenda of meetings
    ++Brainstorm next topics/speakers
For those who have not signed up to attend, or have put "maybe" as your response, I encourage you register for this meeting.  This will be our opportunity to get reacquainted as this group continues to grow together.  This is also your chance to get involved and help us plan the next year of meetups.  So go to http://webdesign.meetup.com/443/ right now and sign up!

I hope all of you have a great,
productive day, and I look forward to seeing all of you next Thursday!
