As you may or may not be aware I have relocated to San Francisco for what was originally going to be just for the summer has turned into a permanent move.
Due to the fact that I am no longer in Milwaukee, I must give up my position as User Group Manager. This has been one of the more rewarding professional experiences as I have been able to meet and get to know many people in the industry in the Milwaukee area and around the country through Adobe.
It has be come time to pass the torch, I will still be more than willing to help out any person that would like to take over arrange speakers and keep the meeting location at MSOE.
Since our last meeting in June, It appears the group has grown more and I would hate to see it end on account of my relocation.
If you are interested please email me at [address removed] or call me at[masked]-2911.
Adobe has been very generous with our group with giving us a CS3 Premium Package to give away once ever 6 months as well as discounts on books and more....
Microsoft has also offered packages and software to our group in the past which has had great meetings on General Web design, Flex, Silverlight and AIR over the past few months.
Adobe works hard to treat its user group members very well and it treats its managers very well too.
Thank you all who have attended meetings and have signed up. If a manager is interested in still holding the meeting at MSOE on thursday, I can get the room arranged and the presentation setup. If not then we will try and get a meeting going for October.
Thank you, I will miss Milwaukee,
Luke Kilpatrick User Group Manager (mkeaug.org) Millwaukee User group Manager
The Milwaukee Web Professionals group is for emerging and current professionals working in or studying one of the web professional trades such as web design, development, marketing or other business related positions.
With our group phrase of “People, Practices and Profession” we’re looking to have meetings that support one or all of these areas. From social meetups, panel discussions, our take on “short story poetry slams”, to topical presentations, we’re looking to share our thoughts, ideas and knowledge.
Topics might include: User Experience (UX), SEO / SEM, Inbound Marketing, Freelancing, Client Relationships, DevOps, Version Control, Cloud Hosting, Development with Virtual Machines, Development Methodologies like Agile or Scrum, CSS 3, HTML 5, CSS frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation, CSS preprocessors like SASS and LESS… pretty much anything that’s related to the web profession is fair game.
