We're happy to announce Game Universe as a new venue for our events!!!

I will be taking a turn behind the DM screens for this session, and we will be using the old school D&D rules setting. The adventure, "Shadows Over Nameless Rivers" is based on the first D&D game I played when I was 13.

A wizard has discovered a map of sparse, largely unexplored territory far to the north and has recruited the heroes to add more detail. In a shady valley, they find a series of rivers and cliff side caves, the inhabitants of which vanished with little trace. Can the heroes make it through the valley and return home alive? And what of the mysterious figures spotted in the woods after dark???

So, if you're interested in running a Halfling as a class, and a combat system based on adding either 1, 2, or 3 to your die rolls, join us!!!

Game players will receive special tokens for 2$ off any purchases made at Game Universe as well as Frequent Shopper type cards that can be used for further savings throughout 2009. Special thanks to everyone who helped make this possible, you know who you are!!!

Game on!

Dave

    •  The players showed a real dedication to the story, and we spent a lot of time exploring the setting and the people. That was refreshing!!! I think during the whole game, we only had the one combat, and I kinda realized the the adventure itself is way too massive to fit in 4 hours of play, not to mention that I had to leave 30 minutes early. In the future, I will probably break it up into 3 or 4 parts and make it available as a download for the Meetup Members. Personally, I had some things going on that were a distraction, and its not an excuse, more of an explanation. A shame that my last game had me not hitting my marks.
    •  This was my first time playing 1E. It was really a change of pace and I liked it. Dave is a great DM. I've only been to a couple of events, and I'm already going to miss him! Good luck, Dave. Wish we could have finished the game.
